Lock out/ tagout

Lock out tag is a safety procedure that ensures that dangerous machines are properly shut off and not started up again prior to the completion of maintenance and/or servicing work. It is important in ensuring the safety of employees during inspection, maintenance and service of equipment by controlling all energy flow to and from equipment.

The types of energy sources that are of concern are: electrical, pneumatic, hydrolic pump, hydraulic line, water, gas, chemical, coolant or steam.
