Chemical Engineering thought of the day: The Ideal Gas Law

PV=nRT or PV=mRT

n = the number of moles.

m= mass

P=pressure, V = volume, R= Gas constant (varies depending on which units you use), T= temperature in Kelvins.

This equation is a very useful way to find out the changes of state in an ideal gas, and can sometimes be used as a close aproximation for gases that are not ideal.
